The Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) is the largest marketplace in Japan, also is one of the largest marketplaces in the worldwide. It is located in Tokyo, Japan. TOCOM is a non-profit organization, and regulates trading of futures contracts and option products of all commodities in Japan. In November 1984, the TOCOM was formed by the merger of the Tokyo Rubber Exchange, the Tokyo Textile Exchange and the Tokyo Gold Exchange. The TOCOM offers an electronic trading system for investors to trade contracts of gold, silver, rubber gas oil, gasoline, crude oil, kerosene, palladium, and platinum. The participants of TOCOM are investment banks, trading companies, proprietary trading firms, individual speculators, commodity index funds, and overseas investment funds.
